"His [curve] had great movement," Barajas said. "He didn't hang many pitches and had control of all his stuff. It's a huge confidence boost for him and for all of us. He's always had the stuff. It's a matter of putting it all together on a consistent basis."

Showalter was hoping to get five innings out of Park, and he got even more.

Blalock padded the lead to 5-0 with his two-run shot in the fourth that cleared the wall just to the left of the foul pole in right field. Blalock has 29 homers and has gone deep in five of his last six games. The homer was his first against a left-hander since May 20.
